If you were rich – which, I pray God someday...Jon,

If you were rich – which, I pray God someday you are – you would not hide your riches in your pillow case. At the very least, you’d put it into a bank, where the funds would be made available for other non-rich borrowers who would then use the money to get rich; and the cycle would occur all over again. If you were really shrewd – and evil to boot – you’d hire a tax accountant who would advise you in the gentle art of tax avoidance; you’d still be rich, but you’d be paying less in taxes than your nanny. The point is: Money is not a static proposition, no more than good works are static. Money produces money; good produces good. Those who think all rich people are evil – or those who think the money they own (money is property) ought to be expropriated by the kind of people who cannot educate an urban child -- should keep an eye on this space for an upcoming story on the Simon Foundation in Bloomfield.Don Pescihttp://donpesci.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385949685214359506.post-13155905943603936592011-07-06T08:09:06.635-04:002011-07-06T08:09:06.635-04:00Failing enterprises don't need to pay taxes - ...Failing enterprises don't need to pay taxes - they have no income (as I know from personal experience.) Lowering taxes just allows the rich to get richer.Jonathan Kantrowitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13919729222396777240noreply@blogger.com
